A tisket, a tasket, some cookies in a basket...

Yesterday my Mom-in-law and I took some dinner to a family in our ward.
I was in charge of making a dessert and since they have four kids that are all primary age,
I thought this basket of cookies might be fun for them.

I think they turned out pretty cute :)

An "Egg-cellent" April Fools!

I'm not usually a big April fools prankster or anything.
But this year I saw these super cute cupcakes in What's New Cupcake?
And I couldn't resist.
Here they are...

They really "cracked" me up! Hahaha!
The funniest part was the reaction I got from my mother-in-law and sister-in-law.
I told them I had brought over some eggs because I bought some and then got home and realized I already had eggs.
Mom said "oh that's great, I'm actually almost out of eggs!"
So we walk into the kitchen where I had placed the cupcakes on the counter and Megan is the first to see them.
She gave me the funniest look...
Then Mom opens the carton and looks at them, and I say
"oh sorry! it looks like some of them must have gotten cracked on the way over!"
*Cue strange look from Mom that says,
"why would you bring over nasty broken eggs?"
That's when I said, "they're cupcakes!"

"April FOOOLS!"

Haha you should have been there.
They were so confused.
Megan thought I was announcing that I was pregnant.
Not even close :)

Thanks to my mom for coming over and hanging out/watching my baby while I made cupcakes :) It was delightful! I'm so lucky to have both my moms so close.

And thanks to my other mom and megan for laughing at my joke :) It was a confidence booster. And it made the cupcakes worth all the pain in the butt hassle it took to get those dumb egg shells out of the plastic easter egg molds! :)

Chocolates!

The last few years my mom and I have made chocolates for Valentine's Day and this year we did it again. Although this time it was more like my mom made chocolates because somehow with a 7 1/2 month old I had a hard time finding enough hands to actually help... when Dad and the kids got home each day it was a lot easier. Eli loves Grandpa, Burra and Gavin :) I wish I had taken pictures of the process (once again I was preoccupied...) but here are pictures of the finished chocolates.
