He had a Birthday Shout Hooray!!

Hi!

Long time no blog!

Am I right or am I right?

Sorry about that.

I've got lots of things to post about...

I just haven't gotten it done.

Shame on me.

But I'm ready now!

Eli had a birthday and I think that's great cause for celebration :)

So I'm ready to get my blog on and tell you all about it.

First of all, his birthday was monday and he turned a whopping

1 YEAR OLD!!

(He says "yaaayyy!")

I'd just like to go on record saying,

"Where the heck did that year go?????"

Honestly?

I'm pretty sure we skipped a few months or something.

It's crazy.

I feel like I just had him.

And yet it seems like we've had him forever?

It's a strange feeling.

I'm afraid he's going to be all grown up before I even have a chance to get my bearings...

Anyway I'm sure all parents can relate to that.

So to celebrate my handsome little guy's birthday,

we had a low key party at Grandpa and Grandma Herd's house.

Their backyard is so beautiful,

And the weather was sooo perfect.

Eli was delighted at the attention everyone gave him.
He grinned through the whole birthday song.

As you can see his cake was the dirt in the back of the dump truck.

I made a white sheet cake, 

cut it to fit,

frosted it a bit,

and crumbled chocolate cake on top.

I didn't want him to have all chocolate.

It was so easy and so cute!

This is as messy as he got...

I really expected a bigger mess.
He's not usually such a delicate eater.

He loved opening presents,
but hated that we kept taking things away so fast.
Haha he wasn't interested in opening more once he opened the first one.
I didn't get any pictures of presents because we recorded the whole thing.
It's pretty long though and I'm not feeling up to editing at the moment...
So maybe some other time I'll post footage of that.

Anyway believe it or not I have a 1 year old!
I love him to pieces!
I can't imagine living without him now.
He's so happy and curious and expressive.
I'm just smitten :)
